Lisa and John, I had the pleasure of teaching with Joan at Orchard Park and would occasionally meet up with her for a cup of coffee in our retiring years. Being in her company was always enjoyable and great fun. She had a very engaging distinguishable laugh. One I can still conjure up.

Hello..my name is Kimberley Watson. .Mrs. MacDougall was my son Alex's first teacher. I had to let her family know what a positive ,loving influence she was on my son. He absolutely loved school because of her. Her loving, patient manner made him thrive as a child and to this day he emulates those qualities. From the first day of school all he wanted to do was learn more, more, more. I give her credit for instilling in him the love of learning. Then and now. He is now a Secondary School Math teacher. He graduated with honors from both Brock and Western. When I met her at the store I work at several years ago, she immediately recognized me. Which I was completely in awe of...all those years..and all those students! She asked me about Alex..and I let her know he was married with 2 children of his own at the time. And that he became a Math teacher. She never failed to inquire about Alex whenever we crossed paths. I too loved school as a child and I also believe it was my first teacher Mrs.Thompson that was responsible for instilling the love of learning in me,as she did with Alex. The world is a better place because Mrs.MacDougall was in it. Alex and I are honored to have known her as I am sure everyone she taught would say. God bless her,and may she rest in peace. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to her family. She was an amazing person and I am sure is greatly missed by all who knew her.

Bob and Joan were friends for also at 60 years. We taught together, played bridge, golfed and went on golf trips over the year. Our deep sympathy to Lisa and John with our hope that loving memories will help assuage their sorrow.
Stan and Jean Oprendek.
