George is a very active member of our community and is always willing to give his time to a good cause. George is a past chair of the Breakthrough Healthcare Campaign, a founding member and past chair of the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation, and a founding member of: The Bereavement Ontario Network, The Bereavement Resource Council of Niagara, Wellspring Niagara (a cancer support center) and the crisis response teams for the separate & public school boards. He is a member and past captain of the St. Catharines Rowing Club, a past member of the Salvation Army fund raising wing, Star of the Sea Parish, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines, Past President with International Order of the Golden Rule, a past president of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association as well as Ontario Funeral Service Association, and successfully chaired the Meridian Centre Fund Raising Committee.

George is also the proud father of  2 sons and his grandchildren. George is married to Dr. Heather Combe, a local veterinarian with Fairview Animal Clinic, and they live with Alicia in St. Catharines.

Gregory became a licenced funeral director in June 2005 and is the fifth generation of Darte family funeral professionals.  Gregory sat on the Board and NextGen for the United Way, Board of Directors for Rotary, Past President of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association, past co-Chair of the 5 Car Draw for Hospice Niagara, past member of the St. Catharines Rotary Club, past Board of Trustee for Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation and is a parishoner at Star of the Sea Church. He is married to his wife Mary Magnotta, who is a Naturopathic Doctor in the city of St. Catharines. He has two beautiful daughters named Cristiana and Ariana, and five nephews Keegan, Conor, Liam, Gavin, Matteo and two nieces Naiomi and Brielle. Gregory is also the proud owner of Winston, a Boston Terrier that acts as a comfort dog at the funeral home.
