George is a very active member of our community and is always willing to give his time to a good cause. George is a past chair of the Breakthrough Healthcare Campaign, a founding member and past chair of the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation, and a founding member of: The Bereavement Ontario Network, The Bereavement Resource Council of Niagara, Wellspring Niagara (a cancer support center) and the crisis response teams for the separate & public school boards. He is a member and past captain of the St. Catharines Rowing Club, a past member of the Salvation Army fund raising wing, Star of the Sea Parish, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines, Past President with International Order of the Golden Rule, a past president of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association as well as Ontario Funeral Service Association, is successfully chaired the Meridian Centre Fund Raising Committee.
George is also the proud father of 2 sons and his grandchildren. George is married to Dr. Heather Combe, a local veterinarian with Fairview Animal Clinic, and they live with Alicia in St. Catharines.
Gregory Darte | Co-Owner/Funeral Event Planner
Gregory became a licenced funeral director in June 2005 and is the fifth generation of Darte family funeral professionals. Gregory sat on the Board and NextGen for the United Way, Board of Directors for Rotary, Past President of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association, past co-Chair of the 5 Car Draw for Hospice Niagara, past member of the St. Catharines Rotary Club, past Board of Trustee for Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation and is a parishoner at Star of the Sea Church. He is married to his wife Mary Magnotta, who is a Naturopathic Doctor in the city of St. Catharines. He has two beautiful daughters named Cristiana and Ariana, and five nephews Keegan, Conor, Liam, Gavin, Matteo and two nieces Naiomi and Brielle. Gregory is also the proud owner of Winston, a Boston Terrier that acts as a comfort dog at the funeral home.
Tracey McCready | Executive Administrator
Tracey joined the Darte team in May of 2003 as Financial Administrator. In 2013 Tracey took on the position of Executive Administrator. She is a lifelong resident of St. Catharines with over 35 years of accounting experience. Tracey is currently the Past President of St. Catharines Jr. A Athletics Lacrosse and has served many years as a volunteer for the St. Catharines Minor Lacrosse Association.
Emily MacSween | Executive Assistant
Emily joined the Darte team in July 2009 in a summer student administrative position. After graduating from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, Emily joined the Darte team full time as the Executive Assistant in May 2016.

Kayleigh Peterson | Managing Funeral Event Planner
After graduating with an honours degree in Psychology at Brock University, Kayleigh went on to pursue studies at Humber College to become a Funeral Director. Kayleigh joined the Darte team in May 2011 and accepted the position of Managing Funeral Event Planner in September 2018.
Mike Bovine | Funeral Event Planner
Mike joined the Darte team in 2007 and received his Funeral Director's License in 2008. Mike completed his internship here at the George Darte Funeral Chapel. A lifelong resident of the Niagara Region, Mike attends St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mike is an avid music and movie fan.
Josephine Roy | Funeral Event Planner
Josephine first joined to the George Darte team as an Intern in 2014. Raised in Welland and growing up in a bilingual community, she is able to assist our bilingual Families. Josephine sits on the Board of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association and loves to do volunteer work in and around her community. Josephine can be found spending time with her family and friends.
Ian MacDonald | Pre-planning & Aftercare Director
Ian MacDonald, Family Care Director, joined our team in January 2009. Ian has been a licensed funeral director since 2002 and is passionate about his role. Ian lives in St. Catharines with his wife and two children. Ian sat on the Board of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association and is an active member of St. Catharines Karate School as well as Ferndale School Council. The Family Care program is available to families at no cost after the death of a loved one. Through this program, Ian meets with the family to assist them to complete necessary phone calls and paperwork pertaining to important matters that need attention after someone has passed away.

Ray Librock | Funeral Event Planner's Assistant
Ray is a lifetime resident of St. Catharines. A former steel industry employee with over 32 years experience. Ray joined the Funeral Home team in 2007 as a funeral director's assistant. He and his wife, Louise, have four children; three daughters and a son. Ray is actively involved with the Knights of Columbus and presently holds the positions of Past Grand Knight and District Warden. He is a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, supporter of the Rhythmic Waves Gymnastics Club and a member of a slow pitch baseball league.
Terri Lake | Receptionist
Terri started working at the George Darte Funeral Chapel in March 2004. She started as a greeter/hostess. She now takes great pride in her position as part of the administrative support team as a receptionist. She has lived in St. Catharines her entire life. She is a member of the Foresters and has held many executive positions since 1980. Terri is a recipient of the Foresters International Fraternal President's Award for her leadership and her community involvement. Terri spends a lot of her Foresters time planning member and community involvement events especially an Annual Family Campout where money is raised for children's charities in the Niagara Region. Terri's main focus in her life is her family, husband George, children Ami (Kevin) & Bobby (Chantal) and especially her 6 grandchildren, Jade, Jazmin, Jewelea, Lynken, Neveah & Mason.
Judy Marchalewicz | Receptionist
Judy joined the George Darte Funeral Chapel team in July of 2008 as a greeter. Judy graduated from the Bereavement Support Program with honours at Mohawk College of Applied Arts in Hamilton. Judy was raised in the Niagara Peninsula and now resides in Stoney Creek with her two dogs Bandit and Monte. Judy is involved with the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life events. In her spare time, she enjoys all outdoor activities, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends. She is currently on a mixed bowling league. Compassion, quality of service and professionalism are major components of Judy's commitment to the families.
Karen White | Receptionist
Karen joined our team as a Receptionist in January 2016. Karen is a life time resident of the St. Catharines area. She has 3 beautiful grown daughters; Amanda who lives in Alberta, Kailee who lives in Toronto and Shannon who is attending Brock University. Karen came to us from the Pathology Department at the Niagara Health System - St. Catharines Site after 40+ years of service. In her free time, Karen enjoys reading, gardening and traveling.
Linda Bemben | Receptionist
Linda joined our team as a Receptionist in September 2016. Linda is a lifetime resident of St. Catharines who came to us with 43 years experience with the Ontario Public Service. Married to John, they have 2 sons Kevin who lives New York City and Brian who lives in Los Angeles. Linda enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her family, friends, and dog Bella.

Elizabeth Williams | Receptionist
Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of St. Catharines, and now is resides in Niagara-On-The-Lake. She began working for the George Darte Funeral Chapel in 1991 as a receptionist and Grief Recovery Facilitator. She is a member of Memorial United Church, and is a Christian Education Committee Member for the Memorial United Church. Elizabeth is also an Executive Board Member with the Niagara-On-The-Lake Figure Skating Club and is also a Committee Member with the Niagara-On-The-Lake Synchronized Skating Team.

Marilyn Rothwell | Family Concierge/Hostess/ Smart Server
Marilyn is a life-time resident of the St. Catharines area. Marilyn and her husband Glyn have two married children and three beautiful granddaughters. She is actively involved with volunteering for Hospice Niagara. After retiring from General Motors, she joined the Darte team as a Greeter/Hostess and has now added Family Concierge to her duties.
Marilyn enjoys traveling with her family and friends.
Glyn Rothwell | Host/ Smart Server
Glyn was born and raised in St. Catharines. He has been married to our Family Concierge, Marilyn for more than 40 years. They have a son and a daughter who are both married and also have three granddaughters who play basketball and soccer. In his free time he enjoys travelling, playing golf and watching all sports.
Sharon Winger| Family Concierge/Hostess
Sharon moved to St. Catharines from Beamsville after she married her husband Don 40 years ago. She has two daughters, Dawn who lives in Owen Sound with her fiancee John, and Sandra who lives in Scarborough with her husband Patrick. Sharon joined our team in October 2014 after 25 years in retail. She has enjoyed sewing all her life and loves all kinds of needle work or anything she can make with her hands. She loves to spend time with her dog BB. Sharon enjoys working to make everything as easy as possible for our families during their time at George Darte Funeral Home. She takes pleasure in passing along her strength and compassion to them.
Victor Di Vincenzo| Family Concierge
Before joining the George Darte team, Victor worked at Sobeys until he retired. He has also been an artist/stone carver for the past 30 years. Victor has 2 children and two grandchildren. Victor is Art Gallery Coordinator of Exhibits, he is also a member of the Colour & Form Society of Ontario, Associate member of the Society of Canadian Artists, Member of the St. Catharines Art Association & the Mississauga Arts Council. Victor volunteers at the Art Gallery of Mississauga in his free time. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus 1394.
Wendy Pula| Family Concierge
Wendy lives in St. Catharines with her husband and her two grown children. Wendy joined our George Darte team in April of 2015. She enjoys recreational rowing, camping, traveling and socializing with friends. Wendy retired after 30 years from Bell Canada and is a past junior girls champion from the Niagara-On-The-Lake golf course.

Support & Maintenance
David Gilmore | Driver
David joined the George Darte Funeral home in November 2007 as a driver. Dave returned to St. Catharines in 1995 and is an active member of St. Julia Church as a reader and co-ordinator for the Marriage Preparation Course, along with his wife Libby. He also volunteers one morning a month at St. George’s Church breakfast program. He has two children who live and work in Toronto. He is a member of the Bridge Centre of Niagara and an avid golfer during the summer.
Anne Taylor | Custodian
Anne is from St. Catharines. She joined the George Darte team in 2014 as a custodian. When she is not at work she is spending time with her son, as family is a very important part of her life.
Winston | Comfort Dog
Winston joined the George Darte Funeral Home team as the funeral home's first Comfort Dog in 2009. He enjoys meeting new people as they come into the funeral home and spending time with kids that may be visiting. Winston is a Boston Terrier who is smart, energetic and friendly.
