CRAIG, Thomas "Wayne" Barry - Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved husband and best friend of Carla (nee Chater) for 56 wonderful years. Loving father of Jim (Kristen), Jennifer (Vince) Alaimo and Darren (Sonja). Devoted Papa of Michael and Molly Craig, Joseph and Samuel Alaimo, Emma and Nora Craig. He is survived by his brother Tim Craig (the late Ruby) and his family. Wayne will be sadly missed by his in laws Anthony Chater, Patti and Brian Ambrous and Brenda Chater as well as his many nieces and nephews, Katie (Jamie) Spiece, Joseph (Stephanie) Ambrous, Frances Mooradian (Joseph) and Ross Chater (Emilie). He also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews, Trent, Carter and Brooklyn Mooradian, Allie Spiece, Austin, Jake and Owen Ambrous and Logan and Riley Chater. Wayne is predeceased by his parents Keith and Marguerite Craig as well as his brother James, and his sister Gayle and in laws Bill and Marie Chater. Proud graduate of Notre Dame College School in Welland and the University of Windsor. Wayne influenced many students as a Math Teacher at Notre Dame, Lakeport and Merritton High schools for 32 years. A special thank you to the nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit, especially Dr. Tsang. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, July 11th from 4-8p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place at 7:30p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 12th at 9:30a.m at St. Julia Roman Catholic Church, 251 Glenridge Ave. Memorial donations to Community Care- St. Catharines or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
