Obituary of Robert Arthur Peabody

Peabody, Robert Arthur November 24, 1937- January 15, 2024 The family of Robert Arthur Peabody is saddened to announce his passing on January 15, at the age of 86. Loving and devoted husband of 63 years to Ann Peabody. Cherished father of Christopher (Donna Logue), Mark (Jacqueline Prenevost) and Sara (John Pogue). Dear grandfather of Alexi, Maxime, Mikhail (Dominique), Coady (Amanda), Dylan, Laura (Jonathon Lewis) Vanderwal and Christopher (Romy Laurin) Vanderwal. Bob is survived by his brother Patrick (Elaine), his sister-in-law Jane (Richard) Baumann, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Freddy, John (Jean)and Roy (Bernice).

Bob was an Educator, Principal and Administrator with the Lincoln County Catholic School Board for 30 years. Throughout his career, he was an avid promoter of the Arts in education. He was a talented artist with expertise in watercolour paintings and pottery. Bob sang in the Niagara Men’s Chorus and the St. Julia Church Choir. He was an original member of The Friends of the Morningstar Mill Restoration Project. In retirement, he spent time travelling, playing tennis at White Oaks and going to the cottage in Southampton.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, on Friday, January 19th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday,January 20th at 10:30am at St. Julia Church, 251 Glenridge Ave, St. Catharines. Flowers gratefully declined, donations made in Bob's memory to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by his family.
