Dear Dwayne and Family,
Michelle was the best person I knew. She had such a zest for life and wanted to live every moment as much as she could. Michelle was a mentor to me- working directly with her for 6 years she taught me so much about what it means to care for someone and welcome someone into our spaces. She wanted to do every experience she could and really did live life to the fullest.
The words she used to describe everything was "awesome, fantastic, fabulous", and those words describe her perfectly.
I have learned a lot of life lessons from Michelle, and will keep her close in my heart and mind in the years to come. She was someone I loved and cared for and I will miss her very much. I know her absence will be felt by many.
Rest in Peace Michelle. May your memory live on with all who knew you.
Lots of love.

Having worked along side Michelle for many years I can say she was one of the most amazing individuals. Her kindness, compassion and ability to make people comfortable as soon as you met her is a rare quality. She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her. Sending my sincere condolences to Dwayne and all the family.

I first met Michelle back in August of 2020 when she interviewed me for her Concierge team at Andrew Peller Limited. From the moment the meeting started I knew I found myself in the company of a very special person. We hit it off instantly and since then we shared many laughs and tears. She was so nurturing, strong and fierce. A true leader who loved the team like we were her own family. I am so lucky to have had the pleasure of calling her my boss, my mentor and a role model. The impact she had on me is truly something I will take with me for the rest of my life. Sending my deepest condolences to her beloved family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of meeting the most beautiful soul. Rest in peace forever and fly high now that you’re an angel. Xo

I'm Virginia Zhang and I am honored to work for APL and to be part of the Wine Country Concierge team. I have been working with WCC team for over an year now going into two years.
It was of a great shock to learn the passing of Michelle, but I know that she will continue to shine brightly in our hearts!
It was a great honor for me to have met such a wonderful being like Michelle. She was someone that would always be there when you needed her help. She was always there to support and care for your in different ways.
It seems like yesterday when I had a flat trre and drove to work on that beautiful autumn morning with the spare tire on. When I got to work safely and up in the Peller office to put my things down, she greeted me from her office and said: "Good morning Virginia, what is your arrangements for tonight after work?" Pausing for a minute, I uttered to make a response not knowing what her reaction would be. But her caring and loving dark hazel colored eyes made me feel a warmth surging in the bottom of the heart and she continued to suggest for me to stay overnight for my safety. At that time she put her work aside and helped me search for hotels nearyby and even called her husband, Dwayne about my flat tire situation and get his advise on which tire brand is good. As the phone was connecting, she praised her husband on being the 'tire expert' with a warm and loving tone.
Sometimes there may be an illusion where I think that Michelle was not only a leader, but also like a friend and like a guardian that directs you to the right path.
She will be truly missed and her memories will forever live in our hearts forever!

From Sharon Gardner: APL Wine Country Concierge
I was devastated to learn of Michelle's passing this week; just does not seem real. A life that was sadly taken way too soon, and yet a life that touched so many and achieved so much. Michelle, you were an inspiration to us all with that charismatic personality that drew everyone you met in. You stood out, you were kind and gentle, and passionate and compassionate. You filled a room with your infectious laugh, and made everyone feel comfortable and happy just being in your presence.
I first met Michelle just over seven months ago when she interviewed me for my position as WCC. She was so down-to-earth and natural and kind. She listened, she was truly interested in what I had to say, and she even told me that we would get on famously, as we both shared the same sense of humour; it was a personal joke between us but it meant a lot to me. She made me feel special and I left that day on top of the world! Little did I know how much I would come to know and admire and love this wonderful human being. She has left a space in this world that can never be replaced. Michelle was engaging and kind and always advocated for others in need. She created a family amongst us at work, and as our leader she would never allow anyone to feel hurt or confused or in need of support; she was there for them 100%, and her promise was her word. Wherever she went she brought a sense of energy that radiated outwards and inspired. She had a huge heart that pulled you in and made you feel safe and respected and able to achieve whatever you set your mind to. Nothing was impossible; one step at a time. Often she was engaged in so many responsibilities and activities in her work, and yet she always managed to pull it all off seamlessly. She was inspirational.
When I think of Michelle, I picture her huge dark eyes - pools filled with passion, joy, excitement, sincerity and a tinge of childlike mischievousness. Her smile was infectious and made a room so much brighter and joyful. She was a special woman, and I am honoured to have crossed paths with her and to have glimpsed the beauty of her soul. Somewhere up there in the night sky there is a brighter star right about now, and the other stars are jumping in excitement at the presence of this new bright light and how much more beautiful it all seems. She is on her way, dancing through the universe, spreading her vibrancy and energy, but you know that wherever she is, she is also with those that she had to leave behind. Shine on Michelle. You got this.
For Dwayne and Family, I cannot fathom how much of a loss this has been for you all. I know that Michelle adored you all. I can only offer words that show just how much she meant to us too; her other family at work.
With Love... Sharon Gardner

Kristy and I are sending our deepest condolences to the Andrus family at this time. Michelle was a wonderfully kind hearted woman, and the best neighbour imaginable. We will cherish the memories of her and her presence will be sorely missed on Parkwood Drive. She never hesitated to stop and talk to us and the kids whenever she would see us out and about, and was quick to make us feel welcome in the neighbourhood when we first moved here. We are keeping Dwayne, the kids, and all of her extended family in our thoughts at this time.

I shared a few photos of Michelle yesterday (two with Dwayne) because I just love them. It made me smile to see them. The Ice Wine festival photo is from one of Michelle's Instagram stories. I remember watching the story and taking a screen shot or two because the photos in the story were so beautiful and I wanted to have a copy for myself. Glad I did. I feel a big mix of happy and sad looking at these. But mostly happy because she had so much joy in her life. Hope you enjoy the photos too.
