My heartfelt condolences to the Saxton family. Gerry and I coached Merritton soccer together in what may have been 1999. He was such a positive influence, patient, and a true leader. I remember him like it was yesterday. That's a small sample of Gerry's gift, to the community, and friends. Rest in peace my friend.

Heartbroken at the news of Gerry's passing.
Growing up Gerry was always at our house, especially when I made lasagna. He always managed to show up at the door just as I was taking it out the oven, begging for a plate. I still don't know to this day how he did it. He said when it came to my lasagna, he had a sixth sense. I still laugh at that.
I could go on, but there are too many happy memories to share in one little space.
Rest in peace Gerry. So proud of the man you became. You gave so much happiness to so many people.
My heart goes out to Lorraine and all your family. You'll never be forgotten.
Love Anne.

I had the absolute pleasure of working closely with Gerry and can honestly say words can't explain what an integral role Gerry played in any crew he was a part of.Always leading by example he set the bar high for all around him to try and follow.
My deepest condolences for Lorraine and the entire Saxton family. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him.

My sincere condolences to Gerry's wife and family. I worked almost 9 years along side this amazing firefighter. He was a large part of the SCFD, his community and of course his family. May he rest in peace, and his family will take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and respected by all that were fortunate enough to know him. God Bless.

So very sad. Please accept my condolences to the entire family. My kids went to school with his and coached Chad many times. I’ll never forget seeing Gerry walk his kids to school with one usually on his shoulders. He was such a friendly guy.

My sincere condolences to Gerry's wife, children and family, and all of my Brothers and Sisters at SCFD, I don't know if there are any words that are sufficient enough to express my sorrow for your loss. Gerry was quiet, but always willing to stand up and speak when it was needed. I have fond memories of him offering ice cream to kids that were in the station. Insurmountable loss. Love to you all, RIP FF Saxton.
