I met George way back when I started driving for JJFast. I was young and green and learned so much from those two. I was teased so much because I was a new school teacher working on holidays for nine years. The years went by and I met George on and off till I retired and met him at the Husky where he offered me a drivers position. It was through George that I really learned how to become a truck driver. He supported me through so many learning mistakes. I really enjoyed working for George. I always looked up to him as a friend and often think back to the good old days when Marv, Jake, George and I were all on the road together. Good memories are precious and George left me with so many.

I'm sorry for the loss of George and the sorrow this creates for your entire family. Im sure that your memories of George will put smiles on your faces and give you all comfort in years to come. For me, George was a helpful confidant in dealing with a fledgling trucking company in the early 80's recession. I also enjoyed running into George on my walks. Kind Regards, Rick Dupuis

Our condolences on the loss of George. He was a true gentleman.
When my husband was diagnosed with Parkinsons George was so compassionate.
All the other men envied George as he was surrounded by many women at the Lake Street Tim Hortons.
We enjoyed meeting Jean and George at the casino for many shows.
He will be missed by all especially his devoted wife Jean and his children and grandchildren and his companion Charlie.
A donation has been made in his name to the Steve Ludzik Centre.
RIP George

Jean I am so sad to here of George passing. I first meet George in the early 70's the I. C. L. days . He sure loved that Peterbilt 352 cabover back then , and he keep it spotless . George was a real trucker and a stand up guy, who would speak his mind if he had to. He also loved the hot rods and we would talk about them in his or my garage . I will miss him. R. I. So sad hearing of George’s passing….we worked together many years ago late 70’s early 80’s at ICL/GEEM/ONPACO Trucking. A professional truck driver with an awesome personality. Always enjoyed stopping by Tim’s on Lake Street and reminiscing our old work days together.
RIP George

I was so sorry to read of George's death. I worked for Archer Truck Services for 38 years before retiring in 2013. I knew George very well. George could be gruff and outspoken, but that could change in an instant to a laugh and a joke. You always knew when George was around. He was one of my favourite customers. All my sympathies to go out to the family.

Grandpa you will be missed by so many. I am so proud to be your granddaughter. I have so many things to thank you for. My love for trucking started with you, driving your big red Pete in the parade. My career is a daily reminder of you and I will live on your memory that way. Many drivers have reached out and that just shows how much you were loved in the trucking industry. I am so glad you got to meet my daughter. And now you get to be with Dad and Clayton. Love you forever.

Dear Jean and Family,
I am greatly saddened to hear of the passing of George Sr. He was an amazing man that I had the honour to work with for more than 25 years of my life. George and Jean attended my wedding, watched my girls grow up, they were like a second pair of parents to me. George was a tough, rough boss but he had the largest warmest heart. His smile was infectious and he always dressed to a T, he taught me so much and I will forever be grateful. I will miss him dearly. My sincere condolences to Jean and the family. Love always Shannon Marr and Family.

Gary and I are so very sorry to hear of George's passing. There are so many memories of living on Walker Ave. that I wouldn't know where to begin. Living next door was one of our favorite memories of living in St.Catharines. George was a true trucker and we will always remember him coming home from his trips with those big rigs. Gary remembers going with him to Toronto to help out, he truly enjoyed the couple of trips he made with him. George had a heart of gold. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Our sincere condolences to each of you.
Love always Gary and Mary Duhaime

Aww I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of uncle George. I will never forget the good chills I felt when I saw him at the restaurant and asked if he was a MCPHERSON. He reminded me do much of my grandpa. His big smile and how he asked which one do you belong too. He was always so nice to me and I’m glad him and my mom had such a great bond. Great memories to be had by all sending hugs to all and know you are in my thoughts.
