Obituary of Melissa Anne Ennis

Ennis, Melissa Anne (nee Dingman) - January 8, 1977 - January 3, 2021. Melissa passed away last Sunday after a courageous four year battle fighting cancer. Predeceased by her parents Ray and Rose, Melissa leaves behind her husband Mike, children Blaire, Jared and Mackenzie, and countless other family and friends. Melissa was an amazing person with a heart of gold and a wicked sense of humour, a loyal friend and a devoted wife and mother. Although Melissa held several different jobs over the course of her life, she truly shone in the kitchen, as a prep cook. Anyone who was lucky enough to enjoy some of Melissa's culinary delights can attest to her talents! She loved to cook, and to cook for others. Melissa was kind and generous, always going above and beyond for her friends and loved ones. Melissa faced her diagnosis with strength, courage and her unwavering kick-ass attitude, and she battled hard for four years. She was a true fighter; she is an inspiration to all who knew her. Her presence will be sorely missed, but never, ever forgotten. A huge thank you goes out to all of the doctors and nurses at the St. Catharines General, who provided excellent care for Melissa over these last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Niagara Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated by Melissa's family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 5-7pm, at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines.
