Obituary of Domenico Palombo

PALOMBO, Domenico

It is with great sadness that the family of Domenico announce his passing on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the age of 93. He now goes to join his beloved late wife Grazia (Grace). His pain and suffering have ended and he is finally at peace. Loving father to Maria and Joseph (David). Cherished Nonno of Steven Balmer and Robert (Rochelle) Balmer. Bisnonno (great-grandfather) of Wendel Balmer.

After many years working at General Motors, Domenico enjoyed his garden and wine-making during his retirement. He will be remembered for his love of family and always working hard to ensure he could provide for their future.  

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Villa Italia in Hamilton and St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas for their kindness and compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, December 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass for Domenico will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Thursday at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Domenico's family recognizes that safety and well-being are a priority right now, and they are completely understanding should you choose not to attend. They would appreciate you keeping their father and the family in your thoughts and prayers. 

As per the Province of Ontario Covid-19 regulations - visitation is limited to 30% building capacity. Funeral attendance is limited to 50 guests. All guests attending the visitation or funeral must bring a mask and must call in to make an appointment. (905)-937-4444.
