Obituary of Dawn Nash
NASH, Dawn: It is with profound sadness that we announce that Dawn Nash our beautiful and passionate wife, daughter, sister and friend, slipped away from us peacefully at her home in Niagara-on-the-Lake on the afternoon of February 12, 2012, surrounded and comforted by her family. Dawn was the best friend and cherished wife of Dale Beckles, beloved daughter of Barb Nash (Staff) and Don †œNip† Nash, loving sister to Wendy, Tracey and David, and treasured aunt to Krysten, Ryan, Caitlin, Tatum, and great aunt to Ethan. Born in St. Catharines on August 17, 1956, Dawn graduated from Grantham High School and Brock University before starting a successful career as a model in North America and Europe, and later as a makeup artist for film and video in Toronto. An adventurous spirit, Dawn†™s easy laughter and strong nature touched the hearts of all those she met during her extensive travels. Dawn†™s grace, determination, and positive attitude, during her six and a half year battle with cancer inspired everyone who knew her. Our sincere thanks are given to the countless caring and supportive teams at Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto General Hospital who guided Dawn during this journey. Friends may share in a memorial for Dawn on Friday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake (323 Simcoe Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake), followed by a celebration of Dawn†™s life at The Old Winery (2228 Niagara Stone Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake). If desired, a †œTribute †" In Memory† may be made to The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Condolences may be made at George Darte Funeral Home web site.
