Obituary of Christopher Thomas Wright

It is with profound sadness that the family of Christopher Thomas Wright share his passing on Friday, June 14, 2019.

Born on April 8, 1971, Chris was 48 years old.  He will leave a void in the lives and hearts of his parents, Pat and Al, his brother Colin, Colin's wife, Jennifer (Breckenridge), his sister Corrie and Corrie's husband, Juri (Benck). He will be sorely missed by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chris and his family moved to St. Catharines when Chris was two. He attended elementary and high school here before completing a journalism degree at Sheridan College. He attended Brock University where he found his life’s passion in the study of Philosophy. Ever a lifelong learner, Chris was an avid reader and researcher. He amassed an impressive personal library before the computer age kicked in.

Chris enjoyed physical activity. Sport in some form was always part of his life. Cross country running and soccer as a young student, tennis and baseball as a young man. He was very proud of being part of the Metros as a pitcher. (He observed life always and liked nothing better than a rousing debate with mates.)

Earthly demands needing to be met, Chris bought a small landscaping business. As he mastered his craft, sculpting properties became an art, his weed whipper his chisel. Deep friendships developed with many of his customers over the ensuing years.

Chris' time with those he loved and who loved him, was all too brief. He leaves behind many who will long mourn his absence.

Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Saturday, June 22 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund Canada.
