WADDLETON, James Theodore
Passed away peacefully after a wonderful and long 88 years on Thursday, March 14, 2019. He is now catching a train up to heaven while listening to the bagpipes play. Beloved husband of 52 years to Catherine. Loving Dad to Nancy and Lisa. Cherished Papa to Jackie and Deanna. Brother to the late Pat, the late Ron, the late Janice, Eileen (John), Virginia (Cal), Leona (John) and the late Russell. “Uncle Jimmy” will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Jim was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for over 20 years and was a Public Health Inspector for the Niagara Region. He had a love for the outdoors, whether it was skiing, gardening, walking or watching his grandchildren grow. The family wishes to thank the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and other caregivers for all of their care and compassion. A special thank you to the many friends, neighbours and relatives who assisted Jim throughout his illness. In accordance with James’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with Vigil Prayers being held at 6p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Denis Church, 230 Lake St., St. Catharines, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Inurnment to follow Mass at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. Memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
