Lloyd was the third child born to Henry and Mable in Lanigan Sask. The Family moved to the company town of Creighton Mine (Lively area) in 1938 where they had another 3 children. Lloyd as a boy was always working, he delivered newspapers and as a young teenager worked at an auto repair garage where his duties included driving the tow truck before he got his drivers license. At the age of 18yrs he began working in the Creighton mine. During this time, he met the love of his life Ann Gudrie. They were married in Sudbury Oct 6th 1956, and immediately moved to St. Catharines. Their first apartment was on James Street.

Lloyd became a welder and started working at the Port Weller Dry Docks. He also worked at Foster Weller for a few years before he was hired by the Ontario Paper Mill. Lloyd and Ann had four children in five years and bought their first house on Sullivan Drive. They then moved around the corner to Overholt Street where they lived for 50 years. He retired from Ontario Paper Mill after 30 years in 1994 and started his life of leisure. Lloyd was an extremely talented and handy man. He could fix anything. He enjoyed his garage and all his tools. If anyone needed something fixed, they brought it to him. Lloyd loved helping his children with whatever project they were working on and spending time with his six grandchildren.
