I grew up on Marlene Dr. in St. Catharines, two doors down from Mr. Groleau, but it wasn't until 1991 when I moved back into the neighbourhood with my wife and two children ( next door to Leda and Jean) that I got to know the man. I have fond memories of having a couple of beers together on his back patio overlooking the ravine, playing cribbage in his rec-room with the wood fireplace blazing, or helping each other with a household project. He always graciously loaned me tools from his extensive collection ( I don't think he threw anything away. It might come in handy someday! )
Jean and Leda were wonderful neighbours. They were very kind to me, my wife, Adriana and our children, Sean and Natassia. We miss them very much!
