Obituary of Lawrence Ross

Ross, Lawrence - On August 24, 2018 at St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 84. Loving partner to Marilyn Hill of 40 years. Cherished father of Mark (Pat), Aaron, and Neville (Maureen). Beloved grandfather of Ben, Ashley, Tyler, Rosie and Natalie. Devoted brother to Desmond (Georgeline), Winston (Marilyn), Harold (Beverly), Anne (Conrad) and brother-in-law Tulsie. Larry will be dearly missed by the entire Ross family and close friends. Predeceased by his wife Pauline and his brother Herbie and sister Viola. Larry was born in Hague Front, Guyana, South America, in 1934. He moved to England in 1956 and then to Canada in 1973. Larry loved life and was an avid gardener, bowler and devout parishioner at St. Alfred's Church. He loved working at Archers Trucking as a diesel mechanic for many years where he made many lasting friendships. Special thanks to Krista Torraville and the nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital - Dialysis Unit for their care and compassion given to Larry.

Visitation will take place at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Monday between 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Vigil prayers will be said in the funeral home on Monday at 3 pm. A celebration of Larry's life will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Catharines General Hospital Building Fund in Larry's honour.
