OUR MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY
To Maurice on the passing of Larry August 24, 2018
Marilyn called and told us about the last moments of Larry, before he passed away. It is a sad event and we knew it was expected since he was terminally ailing. The mere fact that he held on for such an extended period says quite a bit about his inner strength and will, as well as courage in the face of the final end. In fact, your own courage and determination to serve him with brotherly love to the end, is also to be admired.
Our entire family here in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is sad at Larry’s passing. Please accept our deepest sympathies. We were always well informed about his issues, as well as his suffering. It is our wish that you internalize the full meaning of his life and the fact that such a fine man has left us. We have witnessed the impact he had on you and the reverse too, up to the end. And that Maurice, helps to cope with the heartbreak, and life in general.
Larry was a good man. He was a fine example of how people should be, and a wonderful illustration of a person with a big heart. Your brother didn’t like to be the center of attention, but he worked tirelessly and quietly, away from the center of attraction, and made his mark in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He helped people not for popularity or self-promotion but because he just truly loved helping people and making a difference in their lives. We felt like that when we first met him in 1979, and our feelings have never changed.
We know that you mourn silently, having had to bear the brunt of caring and sacrifice over the recent past as Larry deteriorated. Yourself and Marilyn are stalwarts to have coped with your personal lives and then paying full attention to Larry as he slowly slipped away into the final oblivion. You did what you had to do out of pure love and caring for a big brother. You were lucky to have such a fine gentleman as your brother and in turn, Larry was enjoying a rare gift to have such a loving and attentive brother and sister in law (Marilyn).
We cannot really begin to comprehend how tough and painful this time is/was for you both, but rest assured that Larry has moved on in spirit and dwells with his Creator. Your good deeds are well known and your rewards are to be felt in your heart, for you did good by your brother. We know how close you two were and how much Larry meant to you and your family. His memory lives on vividly among you and those who met and interacted with Larry. We join in mourning and pray that Larry’s soul rests in peace.
May memories of your brother’s life comfort you and bring you peace in this difficult time. Our message of condolence ends with a simple quote by an Unknown source, but it holds up to the test of time, expressing genuine sibling feelings. Once heard, this is hard to forget, and this certainly celebrates our own relationships with our brothers.
“I sought my soul, but my soul I could not see. I sought my God, but my God eluded me. I sought my brother and I found all three.” Unknown.
With love, Grace, Robin, Gary and Family, and Glenn, Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

As you grow older, you think that you are prepared for the cycle of life that ends in death. The final chapter. Lawrence ,you fought a good fight, never complained and just suffered quietly with that captivating smile that always lulled us into believing that you were comfortable. Our suffering begins now as yours has come to an end. Your heart and your love was as large as the earth. I loved hearing the "I Love You" that came from deep within and that was so genuine and so you. I am saddened by your passing. I hope that all that you stood for and all that you taught us will become a part of who we are. This will be your legacy. Our nucleus is gone but you taught us well so we will all stay united and we will cherish those wonderful memories of our times shared. Thank you for that great big hug and all the love you gave me two weeks ago. May God keep you safe now that he has taken you home to rest for a while Family united we stand. I will always love you Lawrence.
