Cairns, James “Jim” William

Passed peacefully at Millennium Trail Manor on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Bodman). He is survived by sisters-in-law Margaret (the late Tom), Irene Bodman (the late Gus), Lorraine (John) Downes. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Bob (Shirley) and Peggy (Tom) Cook, Louisa (John) Anderson and sister-in-law Joan (Bob) Rippey.

Jim was a World War II veteran, a Mason, past president of the St. Catharines and District Shrine Club and was a member of Merritton Legion Branch 138.

Family and friends will be welcomed at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home. In keeping with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.*Legion Memorial Service Thursday, March 1,2018 at 7pm at George Darte Funeral Home*
