KRETZ, Adalbert (Bert)

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (2003). He will be missed by his three sons, Wayne, Mark (Marsha) and Bruce (the late Ingrid). Loving Grandpa to Wayne Jr. (Tanya), Lisa, Adam (Kailey) Corbi, Sarah (Jeff) Sinclair, Ryan (Tiffani), Andrea (Jason), Alexander and Nathan. Great grandfather of Cody, Kelsey, Jake, Lily, Graydon, Kaia, Nolan and Tucker. Dear brother of Frank, Agnes and John; brother-in-law to Carol Anne (Albert) Faucher. Bert will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and his cherished cousin, Lois Press. Predeceased by his parents, Konrad and Sophie; his siblings, Conrad, Sister Mary, Joe, Walther, Ann, Alois, Anthony, Alphonse and Theresa. Bert retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. He had a passion for woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing. Bert was a longtime parishioner and founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He also volunteered his time with Out of the Cold and Warehouse of Hope. Special thanks to all of Bert's friends and neighbours on Haynes Avenue. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, February 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 316 Queenston St., St. Catharines on Friday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Out of the Cold (Cathedral), the Warehouse of Hope or to St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
