Obituary of Katie Walters (nee Hendricks)

Walters, Katie (nee Hendricks) - On Friday August 11th 2017 at Tufford Nursing Home at the age of 91. Loving wife to Don for over  50 years. Beloved mother of  Brian Hendricks, and stepmother to Robert Walters. Katie was the tenth of twelve children of which she is survived by sister Doris and brother Tony, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her nine siblings. Born on March 19, 1926, she loved to cook, and was famous for her perogies. She worked professionally as a hairdresser after a move to Toronto from her home town of Fraserwood, Manitoba.

Public gathering will be held at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Tuesday August 15  between 3-7 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday August 16 at 11am. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow reception at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society.
