Auntie Kay was my favourite relative on my dad's side of the family. Supposedly, when she was a hairdresser, she had a picture of a young me on her mirror for years. That always seems so "cool" that a fancy hairdresser from Toronto would have a picture of prairie girl me.
Both Auntie Kay and I loved to talk....and though I haven't for a while....our conversations on the phone, often lasted for hours. She would explain about family traditions and family history.
Aunty Kay was a strong woman....she accomplished much on her own. But, when she met and married Uncle Don....her happiness could not be contained. We saw pictures of all the celebrations...marriage....birthdays...anniversaries. The love between them was easy for anyone to see.
Brian ...although we never met....I felt I got to know you through my calls to your mom.
Aunty Kay made me feel good about myself...very supportive...she made me laugh and she loved to talk about her relationship with God. I am sorry I can't be in St. Catherine's to celebrate her life...but I will here in Winnipeg.
I am so blessed to have been related to such a wonderful and spiritual woman.
I hope you rest now Auntie Kay.....and dance with your angels.
Love Bev
Uncle Don, Brian, Robert , Aunty Doris and my dad Tony.... my sympathies.
