Dear Mavis and family,
We are thinking of you today as you celebrate the life of your beloved Ted. We also wish you healing as you grieve his loss. We're fairly new to the neighbourhood and have only known Ted for a short time, but have really appreciated his kind concern as a caring neighbour. We always enjoyed his stories! Ted definitely lived life to the fullest and loved and served his family and community - a fine example for all of us.

Dear Mavis, Immediate and extended Collins family,
As a pillar of the great community of Merritton, Ted Collins Sr. Was one of those iconic, kind, handsome, fun loving service oriented fellows who contributed tirelessly and enormously to make Merritton a great place to live.
Ted served along side my father, Duncan Schooley, as a LION, a volunteer fire fighter and on the ball field; truly an all round good fellow and great family man, an inspiration to his family and community.
With his movie star good looks and 'Bon mots', I secretly had a crush on this man :-)
I hope there were many Merritton Lions and Lionesses greeting Ted at the pearly gates where I'm sure you will have been warmly greeted and welcomed back into the fold.
My condolences to Mavis, kids, spouses and grandchildren. You are most fortunate to be related to this wonderful man.
Sincerely and with Love
Joanne ( Joey) Schooley writing from London England where I frequently work.
No need to be jealous...the commute is killer!

My deepest condolences to Carolyn and your entire family, on the loss of your father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. Although we lost touch after high school, Carolyn, I remember your father's vivacious spirit ... and the many stories you shared about "Ted and Mavis" :) ... and then to know Kelsey through her post grad program was such a throw-back to our younger days (she looks a lot like you!). I'm so sorry for your loss, but your cherished memories will keep him warmly in your hearts forever.

Our deepest condolences go to our dear friends Ted, Ana, Gillian & Jackson, along with all other members of the Collins family, in the loss of your loved one. Having met Ted Sr. only once or twice, it didn't take much to see he was a charismatic man with a full, happy life and a strong sense of family . Cherish the good memories you all have of him and love one another through this difficult time in your lives. You are in our hearts and our prayers. Love, Peter & Veronica

Mavis, Ted, Carolyn and Larry and famillies,
I am so sorry or your loss. I am happy that Ted is no longer suffering and is now having heavenly coffee with my father and the Tim Horton group that preceded him and have reserved him a seat. Mr. Collins (my dad insisted on this) will always be alive in the minds of the people of Merritton. A function never went by without him smiling and laughing and selling tickets. He was a wonderful man and a good friend to many. Rest in peace Mr. Collins.

To Mavis and Family -- I find it difficult to find sufficient words to express my condolences on the passing of Ted. He has been friend, mentor, and 'idol' for at least 50 years - going back to our time together at Merritton Hydro.
He was my sponsor into the Merritton Lions Club and provided me with advice and direction leading up to my career in Lionism.
We developed a meaningful relationship as close 'buddies ' during our time at St. Catharines Hydro and our time spent together will always be remembered.
He was a natural leader and had his own way of making sure things got done in a proper manner.
My condolences to Mavis and the entire family
George Hostick
