Obituary of Vernon "Ducky" Whiteley

WHITELEY, Vernon "Ducky" It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home at the age of 96. Cherished Husband of the late Verna. Dear Father of Sharyon (Walt) Ragukonis, Gail (Bill) Blaylock, Debbie (Bob) Wittig, Daryl (Wendy) Whiteley, and Julie (Mike) Zulik. He was a very proud and loving grandfather to Ethan & Melanie, Tara, Jennifer & Ger, Amy & Josh, Krista & Carl, Jaime & Mike, Abby, Adam & Kirstin, Greg & Stephanie and Rachel. He was the loving Poppa Ducky to his great grandchildren, Noah, Zakary, Meghan, Maeve, Emma and Ryley. We feel truly blessed that he had such a wonderful long life. A special thank you to the Staff at Lookout Ridge for your kindness and extraordinary care you provided our Dad. We are grateful for the many smiles and laughs you shared with him. In accordance with Vernon's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow visitation in the chapel at 12 p.m. A private family Inurnment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations to Hospice Niagara or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
