Obituary of David Daniel Jenkins
JENKINS, David Daniel
Born in Bedwas, Wales, November 21, 1925.
David bid farewell on April 22nd in his 91st year surrounded by his loving family.
Devoted husband of Shirley for 64 years. Cherished Father of Rhys (Lynette), Marcia (Joe) and Mark (Pat). Proud Grandfather to Krista, Rhys Jr., Mark, Jordan and Justin. Great-grandfather to Elena, Rhys and Leo. Survived by his brother Hywel Glyn Jenkins as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Kathleen Rosser.
David arrived in Canada at the age of 23 and commenced a career as a Blacksmith at the Muir Dry Docks in Port Dalhousie and later the Port Weller Dry Docks. David’s quest for knowledge lead him to a teaching career in Mathematics at Lakeport Secondary School for a period of over 20 years. In retirement, David was a math tutor at Ridley College, enjoyed woodworking and creating works of art in his basement stained glass studio.
As per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 30, 2016 at St. John’s Anglican Church, 80 Main St., Port Dalhousie. In lieu of flowers, donations to Momentum Choir would be greatly appreciated
