Our heartfelt sympathy to Kevin's family.
My family and I first met Kevin when our mother moved into Henley House. He was so kind, compassionate, respectful, loving and funny. He always managed to know exactly what our mom needed and treated her and all of us with the utmost respect. We were blessed to have him in our lives as well as our mother's. I have many fond memories of Kevin my mom and I sharing laughs, songs, stories and a shoulder to cry on during some difficult times. He seemed to know exactly what to say and do. Our hearts are heavy to hear of his passing...may the lord surround you in his loving arms and comfort you during this time of sorrow.

To the family of Kevin Im really sorry for your loss. You raised such a good son. You should be very proud of the man you raised. Kevin had such a good spirit and touch so many lives. I worked with him at the Henley House for many years. He was my work partner on Montebello and the way he was with these residents was amazing. We would sing and dance with them and treat them like they were our family. I loved being around Kevin he always made me laugh and always stood up for what was right. He also always called me by my last name which was just his way with us. I will miss him forever and will never forget the love he always had in his heart. <3

I can still hear Kevin beckoning me calling down the hallways on our weekends together " KINGHORN!!! "..
I have never in my 27 years of nursing met a man so willing, so gentle, and so kind to all the residents. It is such an honor to have worked with a man who actually loved the people he so freely served.
God is real, He is love, His mercy endures forever. Peace be to all who are left behind for this season in time. I pray that your comfort be met, your tears be wiped and know that your Kevin was all of ours Kevin and I think its safe to say we all loved him and he will be missed....Greatly

I will never forget receiving a phone call in the middle of the night while I was working at the desk at Henley House. I looked at the call display which read "Jesus Christ". I didn't know what to think. I sheepishly picked up the phone. The male caller on the other end asked if I had seen the call display. I responded yes. He then asked if I knew who I was speaking to. I responded, I wasn't sure. He proceeded to tell me that I needed to take mercy on this poor PSW who just couldn't make it into work the next day - he was babysitting his nephew. The male caller continued to ask me if I saw the call display and knew who I was speaking to. He strung me along like you wouldn't believe! From then on in as Kevin and I passed in the hallway - I would bow and nod to "the King". I am going to miss you Kevin. My heartfelt condolences to Kevin's family. Mrs. King - you raised a remarkable young man - be proud - he impacted a lot of people. Rest in peace Kevin, you will never be forgotten.

We, from the Slominski Clan (a name Kev gave us), wish to extend our profoundest sympathies and expressions of sadness and grief for Kevin's passing. He was an extraordinary person and this loss has impacted our whole family in the deepest way. Words can't really describe. He was an incredibly kind, caring, generous, and creative person, happily taking the time to talk with our kids, Jake and Maaya, or catch up with my wife Mary on what were the best shows to watch. And, of course, together he and I played hours and hours of joyful, adventurous music. I'm afraid our lives will never be the same again.
We know how his family must be feeling for we have lost a friend and brother, and wish to extend whatever comfort we can, however we can. The last thing Kev would say to me every time we saw each other was simply "Peace." And so we wish him and his whole family the very same. Peace.
From the Slominski Clan

I met Kevin in 2000 or 2001 when I was working at Value Village- he had a huge Grateful Dead patch on his coat and I needed to make him my best friend. I will take full credit for his nickname Jimmer lol. It started out when one of us was being cranky, telling the other not to be a "Jimmy"...and so it evolved. It feels weird to call him Kevin! I love him so...we would say "Love you like the dickens" in parting. Of course that too became butchered to "like the dickens" then to "LTD, Mo-mo"....I'll never have another Brother like Jimmer. I'm so grateful to have known him and for his friendship. Sending you lots of love Esther and Taryn...thank you for our beautiful friend xo

I only knew Kevin from my working at Henley House with my PSW students and he was an amazing young man who loved to help out with the students!! Kevin had the ability to brighten any resident's day and he was always so attentive to those that needed his help.
My students that were lucky enough to work with him were able to gain much knowledge and empathy that they witnessed first hand with Kevin.

I recall being at work one day serving breakfast in the dining room. Four ladies were at one table discussing Kevin who had worked the night before. They were talking about how funny and kind he always was. One of them said, "I don't know why he wears that crazy hat though!" As I got to their table they asked me and I told them he wears it because he has dreadlocks. They all looked at me a little funny. As I walked away I overheard one say to the other, "I hope it's not contagious!" You made us laugh even when we we're lucky enough to have you on our shift. Kevin, my life is so much richer for having known you. I am so fortunate that you crossed my path. Heart felt sympathies to your family. Till we meet again my little buddy.

To Ester and family and my dear sister Karen and family
My deepest condolences on your loss of Kevin. He was a real gem. Every single person he knows or ever met has a story to tell. I guess there was a greater need for him in heaven.

We are still in shock with Kevin's passing at such a young age. He was a wonderful person, and a caring psw. All who had the privilege to work with him were infected with his laughter and dedication. I am one who had this privilege. Deepest condolences to the entire King family, and all his dear friends during this sorrowful time. May you find peace in the wonderful memories.

What a shock! My deepest condolences to Kevin's family. My mother Teresa who resided at Henley house, lit up whenever KEVIN was around. He had a gift, he was special, I will always be grateful to the joy he brought to mom in her days at Henley. May you get your rewards in heaven. RIP

Kevin was a great person and did so much for others. I worked with him at henley house and he made me feel comfortable when i first started my job there. He has a great personality and always made me laugh. He did so well at his job and i know he will be greatly missed by his co workers and the residents alike at Henley. My prayers are with you all.
