Obituary of Jim Chase

Chase, James "Jim" Passed away peacefully in the presence of family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Thursday, February 25, 2016. In his 68th year, James Harold Chase, beloved husband of Deborah Lynn Chase (nee Miniou), loving father of Lindsay and Whitney (Colin). Loved Grandpa of Elizabeth. Dear son-in-law of Louis Miniou and brother of Charles (Mary). Jim will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Norma Chase and also by his mother-in-law Alice Miniou. Jim was a very loving, loyal and caring man. He was our quiet hero. He always put others before himself, giving selfless love to his family and friends. Jim and Debbie were thankful for the many years of kind, caring assistance by the staff of the Niagara Health System, especially the Oncology, Palliative Care Units and CCAC. In accordance with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, on Monday, February 29, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital and the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
