Obituary of Isa Maria Ziraldo

ZIRALDO, Isa Maria - It is with profound sadness our family announces the unexpected passing of Isa who was taken from us on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 79. Isa peacefully began her journey towards the Kingdom of Heaven to be reunited with her sister Rina Josephine and her parents Edward and Derna. She will be forever loved and remembered by her cousins Donald (Victoria), Paul and Bobby (Pixie). Loving aunt to Deanna, Corey (Jenn), Kristen, Molly, Danny, Allie, Aspen and Great Aunt of Kayah, Madigan and Alexander. The family would like to thank the numerous close friends who have been by her side and kept her present in their thoughts and prayers. At the age of 18, Isa began her career as a Teacher in the Catholic primary school system in St. Catharines and devoted her life to her students. In the summer months Isa could be found at the Inniskillin Winery Boutique educating anyone who would listen how Niagara will be the next great wine region of the world. During retirement Isa loved to socialize with friends at her gym or over a meal and will best be remembered for her style and love of bling. The support the family has received from Isa's fellow teachers, students and friends who gave Isa such joy and happiness throughout her life has been graciously appreciated. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of the Greater Niagara General Hospital and Hotel Dieu-Shaver for giving Isa the gift of life and dignity for her past two years, as well as the staff of Ina Grafton Gage Village for their genuine love and caring. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Isa's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, January 22nd from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Friday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at Star of the Sea Parish, 34 Elgin Street, Port Dalhousie at 11am. Subsequently, there will be another service held in Isa's memory in Fagagna, Italy, her parent's birthplace. There will be an inurnment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to Hotel Dieu - Shaver Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
