Miss Ziraldo was my teacher at St. Joseph's school 1972-1977 on Facer Street.
She taught us to be independent and free thinking. She would expose our talents that we did not know we had then foster and nurture those talents. She helped all students, but was most attentive to those who silently needed more help. She did so with great dignity toward these students. All who were in her presence gained confidence just knowing she would always be ready to give great big hugs.
Thank you Miss Ziraldo for your patients, care, knowledge, trust, encouragement & selflessness.
With Sincere Condolences,
Paula Iafrate Grond

Isa was my friend for over 60 years since we bonded in grades 7 and 8 at St Catherine’s Separate School on Lyman Street. We both became boarders at Toronto’s St. Joseph’s College School. When we reconnected at school reunions and later, after she survived her devastating health setback over two years ago, she was the same positive caring person I had always known. “How are you Gretchen, it’s so good of you to come to see me here at Ina Grafton!” I never thought that the expression “why me God?” ever crossed her mind. She appreciated the blessing that God had given her of more time in this world.
I last called her from our home in California after Christmas. On January 13th, Corey called me to say that she had passed away in hospital and that I would be receiving her letter to me, which he had mailed for her a few days earlier. That letter came 3 days after she had passed away. It brought back a flood of fond memories of times past together; I shall never forget her.
Her obituary succinctly captured the essence of this great lady, and I regret that I will not physically be able to participate in the celebrations of her life that her family and friends have arranged. Our prayers and condolences to the Ziraldo family.

I first met Isa in 1956 when a group of us from St. Catharines were attending Hamilton Teachers College. Isa was the only one with a car so every Friday after class we would pile into her car, no seatbelts required,to go home for the weekend and on Sunday evening we wold repeat the trip back to Hamilton. She was a wonderful caring and sharing person, one who always made you feel special. Rest in peace dear friend.

Dear Family and Friends of Isa, I have great sadness in my heart as I read the obituary for Isa. I first met Isa when she was a teacher at St. Anthony's School in the late fifties and I was her student for a day. I later had the privilege of teaching with Isa at St. Alfred's for several years and she was an inspiration to all of us. Our lives intertwined throughout our teaching careers and later as we continued to meet at Art and Craft Shows.. Isa was a friend for life. God Bless you. Safe journey. Jean Parent

I will never forget Isa's kindness to me, all through my life, and especially when I was a little girl, and was placed, suddenly, in her classroom, at St. Anne's, in Port Dalhousie. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and gave me a big hug, every day! She was a lovely, wonderful woman, and instilled values and life lessons in me that I still hopefully resonate, every day. She was one remarkable woman.

To The Ziraldo Family: Heartfelt condolences on the loss of Isa. I first met Isa in 1970, as a new teacher. She was welcoming and offered support and encouragement to us- and not in any official capacity. This was her nature. As the years passed , I saw her infrequently, but when we met, it was as if we had seen each other every day. I believe that every one who knew her, thought she was their best friend and greatest admirer. What a gracious and dignified lady. What a huge loss to our community.
