I did not know John well, but I know that he worked with my mother, Laura Kotyk. My deepest sympathy to your family. God bless. I know He has a special place for all the dedicated teachers who have passed. It will be eighteen years in September since my mom left us. I feel your pain, along with my own. Take care, sincerely, Cathy Kotyk.

John taught me back in the mid 80's at St.Denis. He was the reason I fell in love with running as he pushed me hard when coaching cross country. We won back to back championships with John as the coach. He was a wonderful man, a great mentor and it was a privilege to have known him.

My sympathies and thoughts to the Newberry family. Mr. Newberry was an excellent teacher. I always had the best marks in his class because he made learning interesting. He was my favourite at St. James school.

Dearest Michelle & Dwayne
It was our pleasure to have known your dad & father-in-law if only for a brief period of time. Of his many accomplishments, raising a wonderful family was tops. John's great sense of humour, his hospitable ways and overall warmth will be well remembered. Our hearts are with all of you.
Love Audrey, Ed & Mickey

Dear Michelle and Family
I am thinking about you. John was a great man and will be missed. I loved his jokes and his funniness. Kept me on my toes. Sending my condolences.
