His best achievement was in 1954, when he won a gold medal in the Cox 4 trials at the British Empire Games in Vancouver. He also enjoyed coaching Jr. B. Lacrosse and golfing at Grassy Brook. Gordon will be missed by his friends at the Cock A Doodle Doo Diner and Tim Hortons on Scott St. He will especially be missed by his loyal companion, Casey. A special thank you to Community Care, the staff at Hospice Niagara, especially Dr. Kerley, for their compassionate care and support. In accordance with Gordon's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL. A private family ceremony will be held in Port Dalhousie, at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Rankin Cancer Run or to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
