Obituary of Thomas Roy Adams

Adams, Thomas Roy (former mayor for the City of St. Catharines and current Regional Councilor) on Fri. Jan. 25, 2002 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Roy Adams, 81 years of age, loving husband of Pearl, dear father of Bill and Cathy, loved grampa of Katie, brother of Charles, Ernest and Norma, all of St. Catharines, Norm and Barbara of Niagara Falls, Colin of Ottawa, Elsie Ash, Helen and Jim Rutherford, Blanch Boyle all of St. Catharines. Pre deceased by his parents Charles and Elsie, two brothers killed overseas during WW II, Allan and Bill, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Roy served overseas during WW II with the Lincoln and Welland Regiment and was president for 46 years of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment Veterans Association, active member of the Salvation Army, played in many bands, very active in the Breakthrough Healthcare Campaign for the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation, Rotary Club of St. Catharines South, the Masonic Lodge, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 24 and numerous other organizations. Roy is resting at the Salvation Army Citadel 400 Niagara St. on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Roy's life will be held in Central Gospel Temple on Tues. at 12:30 p.m. Memorial remembrances to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
