Roy Adams was one of the finest men it was ever my priviledge to know. We didn't always agree, but we always respected and liked one another. Whem I was active in the St. Catharines Community, I came to know Roy very well. His honesty, integrity and committment to the community and the people in it, regardless of their circmumstances, was truly admirable. This world is a better place because of Roy.

I am sad to hear that Roy has passed away but also grateful for the opportunity to look back and remember a kind and generous man who had a profound impact on the lives of many people. In the early 1970s, I had to the good fortune to be a volunteer and employee with the St. Catharines Association for the Mentally Retarded when Roy was the Executive Director there. It is almost 25 years since I moved away from St. Catharines but I always followed Roy's amazing career and will always remember his dignity, respect and good humour. I will remember Roy especially as someone who took the time to really listen to others, whether the person was someone with a developmental disability or a young person long on hair and opinions but short on wisdom. My sincere thanks to Roy and my condolences to his family.

Thinking of you at this difficult time.
Memories of Roy are flooding into my mind.
His polished shoes, his erect posture, his firm handshake,
his visits to timbrel practice to help me with intricate rhythms.
These things represent his attention to detail,
his confidence, his connection to people and his
willingness to be totally involved in everything.
Even as a young teen I knew that I could count on
Roy. He was a rock. He will be missed.

While I was in St. Catharines from 1959 to 1989 (I worked with the Board of Education) I had the chance to know Roy on many occasions. He always came through as the true gentleman, one interested in others and always willing to listen. I consider that my life has been enriched by having known him and I extend my sympathy to the family. May you take comfort in knowing that his good works will live on in the character of others.

Dearest Pearl,
I know I speak on behalf of many of the Residents of S.A. Eventide Home Family, who have enjoyed Roy's music with the Holland Glory Band, and who would wish to be remembered to you - Our sincerest sympathy.
Roy gave me my first chance to sing 'with the Band', but now I'm sure this Sunday, he'll be with the worship band 'face to face with Christ our Saviour!' What a 'Blessed Assurance'

Dear Mrs. Adams & family:
I as so sorry to hear of the passing of Roy today. I'll remember him for his quiet manner, and friendly smile and handshake anytime I had the opportunity to meet him anywhere.
I'll remember always that it was Mr. Adams who was one if not the first person to personally welcome me to St. Catharines when I was promoted to the position as manager of Hulse & English Funeral Home.
Through him I enjoyed attending the Mayor's Breakfasts each year, and working so closely with him during the many legion services he was involved with at the funeral home during my tenure there.
He will always hold a special place in my heart. I truly looked on Roy as a friend who's endearing qualities I'll remember for a lifetime.
Again my sincerely sympathies to you and your family for your loss of such a wonderful person.
