Dear Mr Newman, you may not remember me but I learned of your wife's illness the day I met you at Henderson Oct 24 when I was there with my father. He was there for his last radiation treatment on the brain. Little did I know our paths would cross again in the halls of Hotel Dieu one week later when I saw you bring in your dog dressed up for halloween for you wife. Even though my dad passed away on Monday November 4th I wanted to let you know that you and your family were and still are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find strength in your family and friends especially during the next few weeks.

I was sorry to hear of your loss and extend my deepest sympathy to you and the girls. Although it has been years since we saw each other I remember Kathy as a very warm hearted and caring person who always made me feel welcome when Melanie and I visited. Just remember the good times and know that she's now in a better place and is no longer suffering.
From an old friend who still remembers you all with a smile.

Dear Richard, Kimmy, Kristian, Bobby & Family,
You all are so much like part of the State/Canal Family. Just knowing all of you has brought so many others together as friends. Kathy was such a great person and loving Mother. Kathy was so lucky to have such a strong, loving, whitty husband like you Richard. Laughter was your best medicine.
God moves people in and out of our lives and each leaves their mark on the other. You find you are made of bits and pieces of all whoever touched your life. You are more because of it, and you would be less if they had not touched you.
