Bradley, Walter Nevill - Passed away at the St. Catharines General in his 79th year on Saturday, January 24th, 2004 with his family at his side. Beloved husband and best friend of Jeanne (Kaake) Bradley for 58 years. Loving and cherished father of Carol and her husband Bill Anderson, Georgina and her husband Brian Finch, Dennis and his wife Anna Marie Bradley, Gloria Armstrong and Richard Bradley and his friend Trudy Best.Grandpa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren, Bradley Anderson and fiancee Melanie McKissack, Dori and husband Christopher Andrewes and Kristen Anderson, all of St. Catharines, Steven Armstrong and his fiancee Kathleen O'Brien, Michael Armstrong and his fiancee Jenn Grossi, Allan Armstrong and his friend Trynda Froese, Christopher Armstrong and his friend Jenna Forte, all of St. Catharines. Ryan Finch and friend Cindy Langford, Lisa and her husband Scott Catton, Jordin Finch and his friend Kristine Lajoie all of London. Jason and Curtis Bradley of Calgary, Alberta, Derek and Dayle Potter of St. Catharines. Lee Ann and husband Tim Catling and family of Barrie, Ontario. Great Grandpa will be truly missed by Gage Michael Armstrong. Loving brother of Shirley Longeway of St. Marys. Proud brother in law of Beverly and the late Jack Andrews, Lawrie and the late Shirley Kaake, Earle Kaake and friend Valerie McLean and many special nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his parents Dora and George Bradley and brother Bill of St. Marys. Walter was a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 19.Walter was a master carpenter for Clyde Soper in Aylmer from 1950. He arrived in St. Catharines in 1957 and held the position of building inspector for Grantham Twp. He continued on working for the City after amalgamation and earned the position of Chief Building Official which he held for 30 years until his retirement in 1987. Walter was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 for the past 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman in Aylmer for 10 years before moving to St. Catharines.Walter will be sadly missed by Alec Alexander and George Sarkisse, his buddies who enjoyed spending time boating, fishing and camping at the French River. Dad was always able to fix anything his family challenged him with which they did so often and will be missed each and every day. The family would like to thank Dr. Wayne Gruber, Dr. John Hyatt, and Dr. E. R. Blackman for their constant vigil and compassionate care given to Walter and his family. We would not have made this journey without the guidance from these special doctors and the wonderful nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital.Friends may call at the George Darte Funeral Chapel at 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 and Wed 1-3. Funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Mitch Sylvia of Immanual Baptist Church held at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, January 28th at 3:00 o'clock. Creamation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's name to The St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
