My dear friend has 15 years wisdom on us all now. He must marvel at how deeply each of us still love him for all he was, how he lived and just how comfortable he made us to be in his company. A total privilege it was and still is to have Matthew in my life. I hold him close in my mind somedays and send grateful thoughts for the peace that’s comes when I imagine him smiling.

I had known Matt since lakebreeze, he had an infectious laugh, a smile that would light up a room, and a love for life like view people in this world have ever known. To lose him so tragically and so young is a great injustice to those who had never met him, cause even being in his presence made you feel liek a better person, my deepest sympathies go out to the Thompson family and friends

He was wise beyond his years. My heart goes out to his family for all the pain they have suffered. You are surrounded by people who love you and love Matt.

I've known Matt for about 20 years and from the first moment I can recall, he was doing something ridiculous to make me and my sisters laugh. He was always the entertainer and damn good at it. He was also a great leader, getting us to do crazy things which usually resulted in an injury or Lewis yelling at us to quiet down. Even though the past few years we have not been so close you were still in our hearts... you will always be in our hearts. We will never forget the numerous sleepovers, endless games of hide and go seek in the dark, dancing until our faces were red and secret late night prank calls. Your lively presence will be with us forever. You were the brother we never had Matt.
Our thoughts and prayers to Jeannette, Tamara and Lewis,
Nicole, Kait and Brit

Dear Jeanette, Tamara, Lewis Rosanne and Sydney
We are very sorry that we are away and unable to come home to share in your sorrow and help celebrate the wonderful life of Matt. My earliest memory of Matt is when Cindy and I babysat him when Tamara was a wee baby, having a fussy night, big brother Matt came to the rescue and had Tamara laughing in no time!! Throughout the years we have been blessed to get to know Matt and see Matt thrive and grow into a beautiful human being. Mark enjoyed his conversations about construction with Matt. We will always remember Matt breakdancing with Lewis at our wedding. It is these memories and the many more stories of Matt's life that will help to keep his spirit alive in our hearts. It seems so unfair that Matt had to leave us so soon. We shall cherish and remember his good nature fun seeking and easy going ways.
Our hearts and prayers are with you all
Love Jennifer & Mark xoxo
