Obituary of David Paris Battersby

Battersby, Dave In a cool, calm and collected fashion at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with heart disease on Saturday April 15, 2006 in his 69th year. Loving husband and best friend of Janet; loving father of Bill (Marion) of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Sue (John) Campbell of Pelham. Dearest grandpa of Samantha, Rachel, Sarah, Rebecca, Adam, Ben, Zachary, Jacob and Tiana. Dear brother of John (Willo) of London, Geoff (Gwynne) of Revelstoke,BC and Anne (Harry) of Orillia. Mr. Battersby was a member of St. Alfred's Church, member of Regional Niagara Fire Buffs, founder and past chairman of the Fire Dept. Support Unit and member of Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association. Dave was a dedicated teacher and principal for the Lincoln County Seperate School Board retiring in 1993. MR. Battersby is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Funeral Liturgy will be held in St Alfred's Church Wednesday April 19, 2006 at 2 p.m.. Cremation to follow. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral on Tuesday at 3p.m . Memorial remembrances to Regional Niagara Fire Buffs Association or Kristen French Scholarship Fund would be appreciated by the family.
