Obituary of Art James Smith

Smith, Art James - On January 5, 2006 at the St. Catharines General Hospital - NHS after a brief battle with cancer in his 89th year. Beloved father to Donna Mustoe (Wayne). Survived by his grandchildren Rhonda MacDonald and Monica Unsworth, great-grandchildren Kyla and Adam and special niece Dorothy. Art and the family would like to thank "his family at the restaurant," especially Brian and Caroline for their loyalty over the years. Art's involvement in the St. Catharines community was extensive with the March of Dimes, Sales and Ad Club, Art's Wheelchair Foundation, BME Church, Children's Centre, Niagara Peninsula Centre and the St. Catharines Club. Art had a passion for helping those in need within the community. Art is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. Visitation will take place on Saturday January 7, and Sunday January 8, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Art's life will be held on Monday January 9, 2006 at 11am at the Welland Avenue United Church, 5 Henry St. In lieu of flowers, Art's request would be for his friends in the community to help others in need in their own way!
