Obituary of Barry Norton

NORTON BARRY Surrounded by his loving family, Barry passed peacefully after a short illness, on Monday January 2, 2006, at his residence, at 51years of age. Beloved husband of Kathy. Devoted father of Adam (Michelle), Erin and Ilyse. Loving brother of Gloria (Bill) Mascoe. Son in law of Cyrus and Gladys Graham. Brother in law of Diane and Ron Civak, Tim and Sandy Graham, Bud Graham and John Burrows. Dear Uncle of Amanda, Michael, Billy, Shawna, Ryan, Ian, Farrow (Dan), Robin (Brett) and Christopher. Barry will be lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, couisins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Jean and Don Norton, his sister Donna and nephew Blair. Barry was a proud member of the St. Cathairnes Fire Department for 26 years. He was a Senior Captain, Acting and soon to be Platoon Chief. Barry was actively involved in the community with the Grantham Optimist Club, refereeing football, working with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Niagara Children's Center and as a Critical Incident Stress Councilor for victims of 9/11 in N.Y. Barry is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St until Thursday at 10:30am. A funeral service to celebrate Barry's life will be held in the Church of the Good Shepherd at 11am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
