Obituary of Rochelle Paule Thorne

THORNE, Rochelle Paule (Leclerc) Rochelle , formerly of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Albright Manor in Beamsville, Ontario on November 28, 2005. She is survived by her children Gary (Margaret) of Edmundston, NB; Gregory (Cecile) of Crans-pres-Celigny, Switzerland; Nicole (Joseph) Fraser of Peterborough, Ontario; Dr. Carter (Jena) of Newmarket, Ontario and Brian (Christine) of St. Catharines, Ontario. She was Grand'maman to Jason, Vanessa, Jennifer, Sarah, Daniel, Melissa, Tara, David, Vincent and Caroline. Great grand'maman to Blair. She will be missed by her two sisters Carmen (Julien Dery) of Sherbrooke, QC, and Charlotte Leclerc of Trois-Rivieres, QC and one brother Dr. Jules (Denyse) Leclerc of St. Ferreol-les-Neiges, QC. She also had several nephews and nieces, including a very dear niece, Michelle Roberge Baron. Pre-deceased by her parents Eugenie Saindon and Charles Leclerc, brother Andre, and her sisters Jeanne D'Arc (John Jewell) and Fernande (Florent Roberge). Born on September 4, 1915 in Ste. Justine, Quebec, she was raised in Trois-Rivieres and then became a long-time resident of St. Catharines, where she worked for many years at Port Weller Dry Docks. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral home visitation and details are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street , St. Catharines, Ontario. In the spring, Rochelle's family will hold a private service where she will be interred next to her mother in St. Ferreol-les-Neiges.
