Dear Kevin, Clarence, Irene, Karen, Richard, and little Brady:
Though my heart has been heavy since hearing of Cathy's passing on Thursday, more than one smile has appeared on my face as I think of the many wonderful moments I shared with Cathy. While life and personal commitments kept us apart in our adult years, I remember with great fondness the fun and laughter that Adrian and I enjoyed with Cathy and Karen who were such an important part of our youth. I've always considered us to be very fortunate to have two such beautiful cousins, and I'm grateful for all the great times our families shared.
Of course, much of my youth was spent waiting for Cathy to get ready whenever we were going out. Mom often laughed at the memory of Cathy visiting us and me telling her each night to be ready at a certain time the next day if we were going out after I got home from work (Naturally, with Cathy, it never worked). But, it was always worth the wait because she was such a wonderful companion.
Cathy was a very caring and loving individual, so it is in her memory that we are making a donation to the Diabetes Association of Ontario, as I know she would want the money to be spent helping others and not on flowers.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I'll call you when things settle down.
All our love,
Hayden and Della

Kevin, Clarence, Irene and Karen: It is so hard to say goodbye to a friend as special as Cathy was! I dug out the old photos of us in our wild teenage days and it was like yesterday! So much time has passed and distance has separated us for much of our adult lives but Cathy was always a friend that I could have a heart to heart with over the phone and when we saw each other it was never hard to feel that connection! I feel very blessed to have had Cathy as my dear friend for all these years! We will miss her but we know that all the physical pain she has been through is over and that she is at peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Dearest Irene, Clarence, Karen and Kevin:
"New friends are like silver, but old friends are gold."
Cathy truly was my golden friend. We have known each other since we were 12 years old, and she was like the sister that I never had.The Gallants have always made me feel welcome into their home and a part of their family. The many sleepovers that we had when I would enjoy Irenes wonderful cooking and Clarences joking around are fond memories for me. I always valued Cathys' opinion over the years because I knew I could count on her to tell me the truth, even if it wasnt what I wanted to hear. Now that is a true friend. I was fortunate enough to have had dinner with Cathy when she was home this past Christmas, something that she wasnt always able to do, and she commented on how we could always pick up wherever we left off in our friendship. She wanted to remain independent regardless of the many medical challenges that she faced, showing true courage. We all know in life that we have to take the bad with the good that comes our way, and now is one of those times that tests our strength.

Dear Irene, Clarence and Karen.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Kathy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.
Kathy was a very caring and thoughtful person who loved people and especially children. I remember one of our trips to Toronto, Monica and Nicole spent the evening with Kathy, while the twins, Kevin, Louis and I went to the Blue Jays game. Well Kathy had the crafts out before we even left the apartment for the game and done crafts with Nicole all evening. Even when the fire alarm went off in the building, much to Monica
