Obituary of Richard Willmot
WILLMOT RICHARD (Stew) Peacefully, on Wednesday October 18th, 2006 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at 84 years of age. Dearly beloved husband of Rhoda. Loving father of Joan (Jim) Fraser, Douglas (Patricia), Gordon (Deborah), Anne (Brian) Burgoyne. Devoted grandfather of Christopher, Michael (Tori), Russell, Elena, Rachel, Lauren, Kristen, Claire and Grace. Proud and great grandfather of Saydie and Brett.
Stew was born in Toronto and attended the Universities of Toronto and Western Ontario. He served as an officer in WW11. His passion was his family, friends, tennis and his cottage. He belonged to many community organizations and he set a great example for others in resource conservation, local politics and community service. He had a long and distinguished career as an engineer and business man. He will be missed by all who knew him.
At Stew's request, cremation has taken place with a private family service being held. The family invites friends to a visitation in honour of Stew's life, to share memories at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St from 3-5pm. on Saturday October 21st. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation or Goodwill Industries would be appreciated by the family.
