Hull, Donald John (Lump) 1952-2008
It is with profound sadness that the family of Donald Hull announces his passing on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, eight months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. He was the devoted and much loved husband of Phyllis (MacKenzie) for 29 years. His two sons, MacKenzie and Harrison will miss him desperately as will his daughter-in-law Kim. Donald leaves behind his loving mother Jean Hull, sister Sandra Showalter (Clarence) and brother-in-law David MacKenzie. Donald was predeceased by his father John H. Hull (2005) and mother-in-law Janet MacKenzie (2005).
Donald was a graduate of Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School and the University of Western Ontario. After attending Althouse College in London, Donald began his teaching career with the Halton District School Board retiring in 2005. His passion was golf but he loved to ski and travel as well. His friends were very important to him throughout his life and especially during his illness. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and good nature that were both evident every single day.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Saturday February 9th from 7-9 pm and Sunday February 10th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Donald†™s life will take place at St. Paul St. United Church on Monday February 11th at 11 am with visiting at the church one hour prior to service. Internment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara or the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation.
