Obituary of Gerald Stanley Lawson

LAWSON GERALD STANLEY (May 25, 1925 - November 25, 2007) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Loving father of Sandra Polson of London and Suzanne (David) Thompson of St. Catharines. Special Papa to Meghan (George) Stephens of London and Whitney Polson of Calgary, Briar (Jonathan) Cipryk and Jocelyn Thompson (Matt St. Denis) of St. Catharines. Also survived by his sister Marion Homer of Niagara on the Lake, and sister in law Ruby Ridge of St. Catharines. Predeceased by his first wife Doreen (1981) and sister Shirley Gamble (2007). Many happy memories with Patricia Lawson and her family. Gerald will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends at Anchor Pointe Retirement Home. Gerald served in the first Battalion Paratroopers in England during the Second World War. He was a dedicated milk route salesperson for 47 years with Sunshine Dairy and Avondale (Beatrice Foods) Dairy. Gerald cherished the people met and memories made during that time. Former member of the Grantham Lions Club. Visitation will be at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, ON, on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm.Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
