Obituary of Zillah Macfarlane
Macfarlane, Zillah Margaret (Zee) - Peacefully at home with family and friends, of ovarian cancer, on Tuesday November 13. Beloved wife of Robert Thompson. Predeceased by husbands David Macfarlane and Robert Prince. Loving mother of Ronald (Diane), James Norman (Nancy). Predeceased by Michael, Zillah, David and Mary. Mother-in-law of Patricia, and Cathy. Loving grandmother of Julia (David), Callei(Andy), Lisa (John), Jenna, Elizabeth, Alex, Jason (Timea) and Joy (Derek) and predeceased by Bryce. Loving great grandmother of Drew, Bryce, Miya, Chloe, Brock, Emily and Cadence.
Zee was a woman of faith, heart and humour and was always a fun filled companion. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy in the WRNS in World War II. Zee was a long time member of St. Julia's Church and an active volunteer with the Cancer Society. Always an athletic person, she was a golfer, skier, hunter, water skier, curler and was an avid bridge player and an enthusiastic traveler.
Arrangements entrusted to GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton St. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. with vigil prayers at 3p.m. A Funeral Lituragy will be held on Friday at St. Julia's Catholic Church at 11a.m. Donations may be made in memory of Zee to the SCGH Oncology Dept.
