To Audrey's family: I had the special opportunity to meet Audrey in connection to Hospice at the Grantham United Church location. It was my privilege to work with Audrey in setting up the arrangements to use my church. Several times we met then and following her departure from Hospice.I was so sorry to hear that she became ill and very sad that we can no longer enjoy her cheerful bright spirit. My mum in London is being helped by some care givers from the St. Elizabeth organization. From what I can see, Audrey had very caring examples to follow in her nursing training.
May I encourage all of you to find your peace as Audrey would have wanted for you. I feel fortunate to have met Audrey.
In sincere sympathy,
Joy Fretz

I met Audrey only for the first time last year, although I always felt I knew her because I've known Agnes and Philip for over thirty years here in Vancouver. They would tell me about their growing up together about Audrey and her family.
When I met Audrey, she was already ill. I was so struck and inspired by her calmness, her strength and her courageousness, not to mention her warmth and sense of humour!
Please know that my deepest thoughts, my love and condolences are with you all.

When Audrey was a VON nurse, our family always appreciated Audrey's kind, gentle, compassionate way with our son Jimmy Beckett, when he was diagnosed with leukemia in 1986. She was a calming influence for all of us as she helped us with his nursing needs. We will always be grateful to her for being there for Jimmy and for us and for her continuing friendly, cheerful, compassionate interest in our family when we would see her around the city after Jimmy died. We send our thoughts and prayers to all of you as you remember Audrey, a very special lady. Sincerely, Lyn Beckett

I met Audrey in Toronto in 1970. Agnes was my roommate at the time and we moved to Vancouver together. A few years later, Philip joined us in Vancouver. Through the years Agnes has kept her friends in the west updated on Audrey's life. Audrey was so loved by her family and took such comfort in her faith. We all looked forward to Audrey's visits to Vancouver. Over the years, it was wonderful to see the close and caring bond develop between the two sisters.
For forty years, Agnes and Philip have been like family to me and later Tod, Agnes' husband was included in that family.
John's and my thoughts, prayers and love are with Audrey's family and friends.

My Dearest Sister:
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
For as long as there is memory,
They'll live on in the heart.
If tears could build a stairway,
And memories a lane,
I†™d walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
For this is a journey that we must all take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of God's plan
A step on the road to beyond.
There was kindness and compassion
To be found in your embrace,
And we see the light of heaven
Shining on your face.
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
May you rest in peace ever after
Your loving brother Philip
