Alyson was a treasured friend; a lifelong pal of mine whom I deeply cherished. She was kind and beautiful and loyal and funny…she was passionate and strong and gifted and sincere. She was a gem. She brought so much happiness into my life and there are no words to express how much I will miss her. My daughter loved her, my husband loved her, I loved her... We are so proud of all she accomplished and feel truly blessed to have had her in our lives. Alyson will always live on in our hearts and in our memories. She gave me so much and touched my life in a way no one else ever will and for our time together I am truly thankful. I know she is at peace now and that can bring some comfort to those who loved her so very much.
Mike, Lesly, Phil, Vic, Julie (Mike) and Dave, you will continue to be in my thoughts and I keep you all close in my heart.
Al, you were everything a true friend could ever be and so much more….I am so proud of you and will miss you with all my heart and soul.

I met Alyson at work, as we both worked at the same clinic in Ottawa . She was like a breath of fresh air - sparkling, stylish, brilliant, kind, and caring. I remember well Alyson's excitement just before she left for a month to help her sister care for her twin girls, and how happy that made her. She will be missed. I am thinking of you as you go through this most difficult time.

Mike, Vic, Lesly, Phil, Julie, Dave, and all of her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents:
I wanted to send you a separate message to express my very deepest sympathies to you all. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are feeling. I hope that you take some comfort in knowing how very proud Alyson was to be a part of this family, and how deeply she loved each and every one of you. I just want to briefly let a few of you know some of things that Alyson has told me over the years...
Julie, Alyson spoke often of you as both a sister and a mother. She raved about you and your amazing way with your children. She loved and respected you so much, and she often marvelled at how easily and perfectly you fell into your role as a parent.
Dave, Alyson often spoke about you with much pride and love. She talked about her little brother with much admiration for your kind spirit, strength and integrity.
Phil, Alyson often joked with me that you are even more outgoing than she. She loved your home-cooked breakfasts and your pragmatic approach to life, and your honesty and straightforwardness. She loved and respected you very much.
Vic, Alyson loved you so much and always looked forward to seeing you. She knew that she could always count on you, and she especially spoke of your helpfulness recently when you stayed with them in Ottawa. I'm sure you know this, but Alyson was so thankful and felt blessed to have you there. You held a very special place in her heart.
Lesly, I know that you know how much Alyson loved you. I certainly don't need to tell you this. I just want you to know how often she talked about you with me. You were her rock in hard times; her anchor in the storm, and I know that you have been there for her always. She felt a deep love for you, and shared a bond with you that even now won't be broken. I hope you can take some small comfort in knowing that she felt such love for you always.
Mike, you and Alyson were a perfect match, and Alyson knew that and loved you so completely. In the beginning of your relationship she would tell me all sorts of things that she loved about you, from your lovely British accent to the way that you made her feel so special and beautiful. And as your relationship matured, she marvelled at your commitment to her in tough times and she spoke of a deep love that brought her great happiness. Her love for you shone in her eyes and will live on forever.
She was so proud of this family and each of you.
Again, I am so very sorry for your loss. If there is anything at all that I can do to ease your suffering, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Love always,
Marianne

It is with such deep sympathy that I write this. Alyson was a very dear friend to me and one I will always cherish for the rest of my life. She was an incredibly smart, generous, truthful and humorous person to be around.
We had so many great moments together over the years growing up. From the days of high school to her and I deciding to go an work at Cleveland's House resort together. She would only do it if I did it and we had some great times in and after the university years as well. I will always remember the pranks that her and I use to play on the rest of our friends, she would always make me laugh and smile, it was very contagious!!
I will miss everything about Alyson but I know I will always have the incredible memories of her and it will always bring a huge smile to my face. One simple word for Alyson "incredible".
My thoughts and prayers go out to Lesly, Phil, Vic, Julie, David, Michael and all of her amazing family and friends.
I love you Alyson and thank you for being a huge part of my life.
