Two paths in my life crossed those of Mr. Cipryk, first as the father of a very dear friend and again as a teacher. In both roles he was memorable and remarkable. His passion was contagious and the love for his family unmistakable. Jonathan, my thoughts are with you often and again now.

To the Cipryk Family - I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not know Mr. Cipryk, but enjoyed reading his column in The Standard, after being introduced to it by my Mother many years ago. We often talked about his columns and frequently laughed over them as well. She would have been sorry to learn of his passing, I know. He will be missed by many who did not know him personally, but felt a connection through his writings.

Thank you Chef Cipryk for your wisdom and inspiration. From my first day in class as an eager apprentice, to graduation, you always encouraged me try, taste and evolve and not just as a chef. Your tales of being abroad helped me in my decision to travel. Thank You. Thank you for your wit, your encyclopedic mind and the recipes I will carry forever. Thank you.

Chef was one of the deciding factors into why I have choose to stay at Niagara College for longer years, I will never forget him cutting open a live lobster right beside me. He will be greatly missed by many students @ the College. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends who are so hurt at this time. The halls will seem a little empty without him and he will never be forgotten. Cheers Chef, you were one of the best!!!
