Obituary of Fraser Earl Hingley
HINGLEY, Fraser Earl- It is with great sadness that the family of Fraser Hingley, born June 1, 1930, announce his passing on Thursday, July 16th, 2009. Fraser was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife Hazel (Croft) for 54 years. He was the most loving father to Wade (Jacqueline), Guy (Wanda) and Sherry and (Tim Hough). Fraser was so proud of his 8 grandsons, Rich (Nicci), Chad, Todd, Croy, Trevor, Kyle, Rion and Titan and 2 great grandchildren, Victoria and Mitchell. Fraser was predeceased by his father Earl Hingley and his mother Elmira Hingley of Nova Scotia, his brothers John Hingley and Archie Hingley. He is survived by his brother Freddie and his sister Shirley Kirk. Fraser was a founding member of Carleton United Church for 46 years as well as the Niagara Mariners Club. He sailed the great lakes as a class 2 engineer. He was a retired employee of Union Carbide in Welland. Fraser had many passions in life - St Catharines Cribbage League and euchre leagues. Fraser is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at Carleton United Church on Monday at 11a.m. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill to follow. In lieu of flowers, Fraser would appreciate donations to Carleton United Church or Oncology Unit of the St. Catharines General Hospital.
