Dianne Grime

Obituary of Dianne Louise Grime

Dianne Louise Grime, (nee Gignac) 83, passed peacefully with dignity at home surrounded by loving arms after a courageous  battle with cancer on January 20, 2025.  She will be deeply missed by daughter, Lori (D'Intino) son-in-law Fred, grandkids Nick and Talia, son Mark, grandkids Justice and Honor.

Dianne lived a practical life of simplicity finding her solace through hard work, in many times of chaos and challenge, she always persevered.   She was a healthcare aid for many years at Versacare, a chief Union Steward for CLAC, obtained a diploma in gerontology multidiscipline, then at age 50 graduated as a nurse landing her dream job at VON Niagara where she worked until retiring at age 67.  She was a talented gardener nurturing meticulous floral gardens wherever she lived. She was known to move a sofa up flights of stairs or rebuild an entire patio lifting the stones herself, with incredible strength, pride and accomplishment . She was a voracious reader who loved her tea, watching Britbox, lunches out at Swiss Chalet with beloved late sister Josie and family dinners at Betty's and Red Lobster. She had a passion for decorating and refinishing old furniture. She loved a good thrift store find and Lori will miss her best friend and their many adventures .She was a lover of dogs rescuing many, always having dogs and cats by her side.  Current doodles Nevy and Fozzy will be lost without their cherished Grandma.  She found true love later in life with late husband Brian (2021). Now reunited with late siblings Ron (Anne) and Susie.

The family wish to thank the home palliative care team Geneva, Sanja, Rachel, Melanie, Megan for making her final days comfortable with such genuine care and concern. Also Dr. Michael Levesque at Walker Cancer Center and Dr. Vera Wan for her exemplary compassion, always just a phone call away.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Diane will be cremated, per her wishes there will be no visitation or service. If desired, donations can be made in her honor to Humane Society of Greater Niagara. Fly high our Nightingale until we meet again.
