Bakker, Donald Keith

 

Passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at his home in St. Catharines, at 56 years of age.

 

Don leaves behind his dearly loved wife of 26 years, Heidi May Bakker. Dearly loved father of Dana Elizabeth Bakker and Jacoba Jean Bakker. Pop pop to Mena (a granddog). Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.

 

Son of Jean Bakker of British Columbia, and predeceased by his father, Pieter Bakker. Brother of Lennard and Risa Bakker (PJ) of Utah, Kathryn Bakker (Ashleigh, Katy and Emma) of British Columbia, Brian Bakker of British Columbia. Beloved son in law of Wilfred and Janet Oldfield. Beloved brother-in-law to Tammy and Peter McClung (Nick and Jen), Jane and Roland van Kampen (Jonathan).

 

In addition to being a hardworking and devoted father, Don was a professional truck driver for 30 years, working for Paddock Transport International for 20+ years and most recently at Packers Logistics Solutions. He loved model truck making and all things truck, as well as the Hulk, Dukes of Hazzard, and the western cowboy motif.

 

In Keeping with Don's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday, January 16th from 12pm. A Final Tribute for Don will follow in the Ceremony Room at 1pm. If so desired, donations made in Don's memory to Therapy Tails or Pathstone Mental Health would be appreciated by his family.
