Obituary of Konstantinos Patrianacos
In Loving Memory of Konstantinos Patrianacos
January 14, 1928 - January 2, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father and family patriarch Konstantinos (Dino) Patrianacos on January 2, 2025, just 2 weeks short of celebrating his 97th birthday. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Potoula (2022), and siblings Thomas and Athinoula. Father to devoted daughters, Effie (Mihalis) and Angie (James), and cherished grandsons Vasilis, George and Constantinos. Survived by sisters Sophia and Maria, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends across Greece, Canada, and the USA.
Dino was born in Petrina, Greece to parents Ilias and Eleftheria (Kontzamanis). He followed his dreams to Canada in 1955 where he and our mother exchanged their marital vows shortly thereafter. Their unity was limitless and served as their greatest strength and the foundation of our home in Toronto. He took pride in our family unit and worked hard to provide a great quality of life for us. Dino enjoyed family gatherings, social outings and family road trips, whether in Canada, the US or the Greek countryside during cherished summers abroad. He had a keen interest in military history, having witnessed the tumultuous era of WWII and took great pride in his own military service and contributions. Dino's expertise in diagnostics and repairs as an automotive mechanic earned him a reputation for excellence among his clients and peers. He enjoyed small game hunting, and the camaraderie among a close-knit group of hunting buddies. He was a passionate sports fanatic with an insatiable interest in hockey and soccer. Following retirement, he and our mother returned to Greece, relishing in the simplicity of village life, nurturing olive groves and sharing evenings with good friends. He was a true gentleman who took pride in building a reputation on the principle that his handshake was his word and his word was his bond. As we grieve the loss of our beloved father, we take solace in knowing that he has been reunited with our mother, in a place of eternal peace and love. May their souls rest in eternal harmony.
Please join us in celebrating the life of our cherished father who is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Monday, January 6th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
